Amber Fort in Jaipur was founded by Raja Man Singh in 1592, who was an important military leader in the army of the Mughal Emperor Akbar. However, its construction could not be completed during the reign of the founder and was finished by Jai Singh I, Raja Man Singh's descendant. This fort in Rajasthan's Jaipur is located 9 kilometer north west from the main city on the banks of Maota Lake. Once this fort served as the capital of the Minas by the Kachwaha rulers until the capital was relocated to Jaipur
Impression of three reigns � that of Man Singh, and Jai Singh I and II- are evident in the structure of the fort built with white marble and red sandstone because Raja Jai Sigh I and Raja Jai Singh II had later introduced some additions to the fort.
