History of Amber Fort in Jaipur
Amber Fort in Jaipur is located 9 kilometer north west of Jaipur
and was once the capital of the Minas. In 1592, this fort in
Jaipur set on the banks of Maota Lake, was founded by Raja Man
Singh, who was an important military leader in the army of the
Mughal Emperor Akbar and finally finished by his descendant
Jai Singh I. Later some changes were introduced by Raja Jai
Sigh I and Raja Jai Singh II and was also used by the Kachwaha
rulers as their capital. So you will find the impression of
three reigns - that of Man Singh, and Jai Singh I and II- in
the structure of the fort built with white marble and red sandstone.
