Jal Mahal in Jaipur was built by Sawai Pratap Singh amidst Man
Sagar lake, which was formed by constructing a dam between the
two hills by Sawai Man Singh I. Royal families used this palace
for duck shooting parties and a large number of migratory birds
congregate in the lake during the winter months.
The palace in Jaipur is abandoned now and generally used for
leisure. While you will find the cenotaphs of the royal family
on the road to Amber from Jaipur, a causeway leads to the palace
in the middle of the lake.
