The garden was built by Sawai Raja Pratap Singh who has spent at about four lakhs rupees to construct the garden. The garden acted like a great place of peace and shade from the scorching sun rays and from the dry desert areas.

The garden was built in the year 1868 and is situated in the heart of the great city of Jaipur. The garden is well connected by all the modes of transport and can be reached from every part of the city. The garden has a museum that has a collection of old metal work, ivory work and cane wood carvings. The exquisite ancient silver jewelries and other important articles can be found in this museum that will give you an idea of the lifestyles of the kings of bygone days.
