This reservoir at Godi Sagar Lake supplied water to all the residents of the city of Jaisalmer in the earlier years. It was also the place for the kings and the members of the Royal family to spend pleasant summer evenings.
Description of Godi Sagar Lake
The Godi Sagar Lake has artificially built chattris, shrine and Ghats that surround the banks of the lake. The entrance to the Godi Sagar Lake, which is to the south of the city, is through a beautiful and creatively carved archway made of golden yellow sandstone. This is called the Tilon-Ki-Pol. The enthralling view of the golden fort from the Godi Sagar Lake brings many tourists to this place.
