Day 01: Arrive Delhi
On your arrival at the Delhi airport in the morning, you will
be met by the Indian Horizons executive who will escort you
to your hotel. After lunch at the hotel, enjoy an exciting sightseeing
tour of Old and New Delhi in the afternoon. Visit the famous
historic monuments, Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Jantar Mantar, India
Gate, Raj Ghat, Humayun's Tomb and Qutub Minar.
Have dinner and stay overnight at the hotel in Delhi.
Day 02: Delhi - Sultanpur - Delhi
After breakfast at the hotel, you will be taken on a daylong
excursion to Sultanpur Jheel (50 km-1hour). Sultanpur, an enchantingly
beautiful lake bird sanctuary is famous for its rich population
of waterfowls and cranes. Have your fill of birdwatching while
capturing some exciting moments of birds in action on your camera.
We return to Delhi in the evening for dinner and overnight stay
at the hotel.
Day 03: Delhi - Agra - Fatehpur Sikri - Bharatpur
After early breakfast today, we will start for Agra - the city
of the Taj (203km-4 ½ hrs) by road to reach there by
noon. At Agra visit the famous white marble monument Taj Mahal
made by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan and the magnificent Agra
Fort made by Akbar.
Later, we drive to Keoladeo Ghana Bird Sanctuary at Bharatpur
(65km-1hr), en-route visiting Fatehpur Sikri, the onetime Mughal
capital. At Fatehpur Sikri, you will see the famous Bulund Darwaza
(the highest gateway in the world), the Paanch Mahal and the
Tomb of Sheikh Salim Chisti- a renowned Sufi saint of India.
On our arrival at Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary we check into the
Forest Lodge/Resort. Have dinner and sleep away your fatigue
at the Lodge/ Resort at Bharatpur.
Day 04: Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary
Get up early to enjoy an exciting early morning bird watching
walk or a boat ride through the marshes to explore the rich
and diverse avifauna of the park. Watch out for the migratory
Siberian Cranes that frequent the park. In the afternoon, you
can enjoy a rickshaw or a bicycle ride through the sanctuary
to spot a rich variety of exotic and colorful birds that never
fail you.
Spend the night at the Lodge/ Resort in Bharatpur.
Day 05: Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary
Wake up to a 2nd full day of bird watching in the sanctuary,
to make up for what you missed the day before. Feast your eyes
on a wide variety of birds and wildlife that never fail to impress
its visitors.
Dinner and overnight stay will be at the Lodge/ Resort at Bharatpur.
Day 06: Bharatpur - Delhi - Tour Concludes
After breakfast at the lodge, enjoy one last morning visit to
the park, after which drive back to Delhi where your Bird Paradise
tour ends.
