"Quality in a product or service is not what the supplier puts in. It is what the customer gets out and is willing to pay for."
If you see the lavishness, the bounties and the extravaganza of the Hill Palace Museum you shall feel the delight of the creator in your heart. The Hill Palace Museum at Thripunithura, at Kochi is now a colossal Archeological Museum at Kerala. It is also the first Heritage Museum at Kerala, and consists of 52 acres of porch land.
Originally inhabited by the Royal Family of Kochi, the Hill Palace Museum consists of 49 well designed edifices; they are created in an ethnic manner, and reflect the heritage of India. The adjacent ponds, temples, and gardens along with stylish adjuncts indicate the harmonious blend of Indian and Western Architecture.
In 1980 the Department of Archeology shouldered the responsibility of management of the Hill Palace Museum. It was later converted into a museum due to the exquisite assets with which the Hill Palace Museum is impregnated with. The paintings, inscriptions, carvings, frescoes, sculpture, stone made structure along with few of the manuscripts constitute 14 items that are on display at the Hill Palace Museum.
Most of the displayed items have been brought from the Travancore Royal House. Materials from the Paliam Devaswom are also exhibited. Some of the exclusive items include the gold coins, gold crown, royal beds, and other invaluable items.
It is worthwhile to mention over here that the golden crown is embedded with varieties of gems and jewelry. In the Museum of the Hill Palace at Kerala you will also come across the pottery items, and the throne of the king known as the Simhasana. The portrait Gallery exhibits the pictures of the Maharajahs of the erstwhile Palace.
