Introduction: The Parliament House or the Sansad Bhavan is located on the north-west side of Vijay Chowk, which is next to the Secretariat buildings at the end of Sansad Marg or the Parliament Street. Parliament House in Delhi is the place where the Indian Parliament assembles and the world's biggest democracy runs. Visitors can enter the Parliament House only with an official permission during any time of the year, whether the sessions are on or not. People can enter the public galleries only with an official pass with prior permission. The entry to the Parliament House is free of cost but the official permission is required. Located near Connaught Place, which is the heart of the city, it is very easy to reach the Sansad Bhavan by availing local buses, hired auto rickshaws, taxis or metro rail. The nearest airport is the Indira Gandhi International Airport, the near most rail track is the New Delhi Rail Station and the nearby metro station is the Central Secretariat. Approximately 2 hours are required to finish the trip at the Parliament House.
The regal building of the Parliament House has 3 semi-circulars chambers surrounded by a circular corridor with 144 pillars, giving the building a majestic look. The building is surrounded by beautiful gardens, fountains, sprawling lawns and watercourses.
The nearby tourist attractions of the Parliament House are, Rashtrapati Bhavan, Hanumaan Mandir, Jantar Mantar, India Gate and Gurudwara Bangla Sahib.
Special Events: The Special Events at Parliament House or the annual events of the Sansad Bhavan are the sessions held in the House every year. The best time to visit the Parliament House is during the sessions. Three sessions take place in a year - the Summer Session, the Monsoon Session and the Winter Session.
