The Gurdwara Bangla Sahib had been constructed in commemoration of 8th Guru Hari Krishan Singh, who is said to possess miraculous powers of healing so that he cured the patients of Small pox and Cholera that broke out as an endemic in Delhi during his visit to the city. The queens of the royal palace actually came to witness his phenomenal powers and under their instruction the Gurdwara had been erected by Raja Jai Singh.
