About Belum Caves
Caves are popular among the tourist as that gives the detailed information about the past and its history that is well evident on the cave walls and other features of the caves.
Belum Caves, Belum was discovered by H.B. Foote in the year 1854. The cave is located in the subterranean passage. The cave is still maintained by Archeological Survey of India and the cave hosts a wide passage unlike the Meghalaya Caves.
There are three well like structures and the central well is the main entrance. The cave is 20 meters from the entrance and this cave possess the longest passage and it covers the length of 3229 meters and this passage is longer than Borra Caves. Inside the cave you will find various chambers, fresh water galleries, and siphon that shows the advancement of architecture in the by gone days.
How to Reach
Belum is 106 kms away from Kurnool. The Kurnool railway station is the nearest rail junction. Hyderabad international airport is the closest airport that is well connected with other parts of the country.
