Begam Samru is one of the most renowned moral fibers in Indian History, deriving her glory by sheer caliber and gallantry at the battlefield, and in spite of her terrible valor and fortitude.
She, being the child of a concubine, parental identity was deprived from her fate still self poise and guts were her sole weapon and she gained an eminent position by maintaining trained soldiers and temporarily lending them to the Mughal emperors. She sometimes used to lead them in the battlefields.
A large mansion made of marble stone was presented to her for her pluck and pledge. This mansion, one of the largest in Delhi is also known as Begam Samru's Palace.
