Shankar's International Dolls Museum - Fast Facts

Introduction

Shankar's International Dolls Museum built in 1965 by well known political cartoonist, K Shankar Pillai houses over 6500 dolls from over 85 countries. The museum has a collection of dolls from India as well as foreign countries like Australia, America, Africa and U.K.

The Indian dolls represent the rich culture and traditions of India. The rural India is portrayed through the costume and physical structure of the dolls representing the different villages of India.

Location

Shankar's International Dolls Museum is located in the Children's Book Trust building in Nehru House on Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg.

Timings

Shankar's International Dolls Museum is open from 10 am to 6 pm. The museum is open even during lunch time. The ticket counter closes at 5.30 pm. The museum is closed on Monday.

Admission Fee

The admission fee to Shankar's International Dolls Museum is Rs 10 for adults and Rs 5 for children. Those children coming in groups of 20 or more are offered a concession and tickets for them cost Rs 2.
