There are numerous places of attractions in Nagarjuna Sagar. Nagarjuna Sagar Dam is the primary tourist attraction. It consists of the World�s largest Man made Lake. There are two canals like the left canal and the right canal. It successfully transforms a barren land into a verdant landscape and makes it the renowned Rice Bowl of India.
Nagarjunakonda was named after Acharya Nagarjuna. He was a renowned scholar and was the philosopher. He reached that place from Amravati in order to spread the message of Buddha and he was the founder of the Mahayana Buddhism. There are numerous monasteries, Universities at this place. Anupa is the Buddhist University and Stadium; and there is a unique arrangement of acoustics here.
