Day 1: Arrival at Chennai

Day 2: Sight Seeing of Chennai
In the morning just after breakfast you will start a sight seeing tour of the city of Chennai. Day 3: Trip to Kanchipuram and Mahabalipuram
Any visit to Tamil Nadu is incomplete if you do not visit the temples. This day you will get to witness some of the temples that reflect remarkable architectural skills. You will be taken to the Kailasanatha Temple, the Vaikunda Perumal Temple and the Kanchipuram Temples. After eating your lunch at Kanchipuram, you will set out for Mahabalipuram. On reaching Mahabalipuram you will be taken to the hotel where you can rest for the night.
Day 4: Stay in Mahabalipuram
The whole day is reserved for this tiny sea village. You will bask in the warmth of its sunny beaches and also visit the world famous rock cut shore temples. The exquisite sculptures of the temple are unique. Unlike the sculptural carvings in other parts of the state, these depict scenes which throw a great deal of light on the daily living of the people. You are sure to be impressed by this World Heritage monument. You will return to the hotel for lunch and then you can spend your time as you please. The night will also be spent in Mahabalipuram.
Day 5: Visit and Night Stay at Pondicherry
In the morning, we set out for Pondicherry. This was once a French colony. Presently it is most famous for the Aurobindo Ashram. A visit to the Ashram promises to be a very unique experience. The quiet and tranquil atmosphere of the ashram is sure to have a very soothing effect on all our minds. These few moments of blissful solitude will forever remain in your minds. The Matri Mandir at Auroville, a universal city in the making will keep you occupied in the afternoon. Take rest at night in the hotel in Pondicherry.
Day 6: Visit to Chidambaram
Early in the morning, just after breakfast we set out for Chidambaram. We cannot afford to be late because we have to reach in time to witness the worshipping ceremony at Chidambaram Temple. The ceremony starts at 10.30 and we have to be present before that. After that you can take a dip in the holy Mahamaham tank. This will be followed by a visit to the Airavateswarar Temple at Darasuram, famous for its rare sculptural specimens of craftsmanship.
Day 7: Visit to Tanjore, Night stay at Tiruchirapalli
The day begins with a trip to Tanjore. The places that will be visited in Tanjore are the Palace and the Brihadisvara Temple. The Art Gallery and the Mahal Library housed within the palace have on display some unique pieces of art. The temple is the pride of Tanjore and has the proud distinction of being labeled as a world heritage monument. It is symbolic of splendid architectural skills. Admire the talent that is displayed in every nook and corner of the temple. After eating your lunch, you will set out for Tiruchirapalli. On reaching Tiruchirapalli you will be taken to the hotel. Now you can relax or spend your time as you please.
Day 8: Sight seeing at Tiruchirapalli
The Ranganatha Vishnu Temple will be visited first. Within the premises of this temple you will get to see the religious rites of dead people being performed. Just towards evening, climb 437 steps to reach the Rock Fort temple. It is no doubt that the steep climb is strenuous but once you reach the top you will get great views at sunset. The sight of the River Cauvery Delta and Srirangam Island at dusk from this point is sure to remain etched in your memories forever. The night will be spent in this city.
Day 9: Excursions from Tiruchirapalli, Night stay at Tiruchirapalli
In the morning we set out to visit many ancient sites. The Moovar Koil Temple at Kodumbalur and the ancient cave temples of the Jains at Sittannavasal will be visited today. The museum at Pudukottai is also included and this will give you a chance to see a wide variety of rare and impressive sculptures. In the afternoon we will be returning to Tiruchirapalli for lunch. The rest of the day is left for you to spend as you please. This is because we understand that all of you are on a vacation and would definitely like to have a few moments of leisure.
Day 10: Trip to Madurai
On your way to Madurai, you will pass the Chettinad area. The Chettiar Palace is a magnificent structure and very admirable too. You will also get the chance to see several other palatial bungalows of this classy area. After you reach Madurai, you eat your lunch and start sight seeing of the city. The renowned Meenakshi temple will take a large part of your time. It is sure to impress you with its imposing structure and noteworthy architecture. The gopurams are particularly mention worthy. Take rest at night in the hotel in Madurai.
Day 11: Time for the journey back home
